Privacy Policy

What we collect, and why.

Effective September 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Hourglass Services LLC ("Hourglass," "we," "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you visit daveturchin.com (the "Site"), contact us, or take part in a recruiting search we run. By using the Site or working with us, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

Information you give us. When you fill out a form on the Site, email us, or speak with us, you may provide your name, email address, phone number, company, job title, and the content of your message. If you are a candidate, you may also share your resume, work history, compensation expectations, work authorization status, references, and other professional details. We collect only what you choose to provide.

Information from other sources. As a search firm, we may gather professional information about prospective candidates from public sources such as LinkedIn, company websites, and professional networks, and from referrals. We use this information solely to evaluate fit for roles and to contact you about opportunities.

Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider, Netlify, logs standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps for security and reliability. The Site does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address when the page loads.

How we use information

  • To respond to your inquiries and provide our services.
  • To evaluate candidates and present them to clients for specific roles.
  • To manage client engagements, invoicing, and payments.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the Site.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

How we share information

With clients. If you are a candidate, we share your professional profile with a prospective employer only for a role we have discussed with you and only with your knowledge. We do not circulate candidate information broadly.

With service providers. We use trusted vendors to run our business, including Netlify (website hosting and form handling), Google Workspace (email and documents), Stripe (payment processing for client invoices), and LinkedIn (professional networking). Each processes data under its own privacy policy and only as needed to provide its service.

For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Hourglass, our clients, candidates, or others.

Business transfers. If Hourglass is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

Payments

Client payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers or bank credentials. Stripe's handling of payment data is governed by its own privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.

Data retention

We keep contact and candidate information for as long as it is useful for placing you in a role or serving a client engagement, and as required for legal, tax, and accounting purposes. Candidates may ask us to delete their information at any time (see "Your choices" below).

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls on our email and document systems, and reputable vendors with their own security programs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

You may at any time ask us to: tell you what personal information we hold about you; correct it; delete it; or stop contacting you. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation, including the right to object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. To exercise any of these rights, email dave@daveturchin.com. We will respond within 30 days and will not treat you differently for exercising your rights.

Children

The Site and our services are intended for adults and working professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

International visitors

We are located in the United States and process information here. If you contact us from outside the U.S., you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top will change when we do, and material changes will be noted on this page.
